Discover the star technique of aesthetic medicine

What is microneedling?

Microneedling is a non-invasive aesthetic treatment that creates controlled micro-perforations using fine needles (dermaroller or dermapen).

These micro-lesions activate the skin's natural repair mechanisms and boost the production of collagen and elastin , essential for firm and smooth skin.

Recognized in dermatology and aesthetic medicine, this technique improves skin texture , reduces acne scars , tightens enlarged pores , diminishes the appearance of stretch marks , and restores a natural radiance to the skin. It is one of the most effective treatments for smoothing, evening out, and revitalizing the skin.

FAQ - MICRONEEDLING

Each Dr. Pen device is equipped with a cartridge with tiny needles. When you turn on your device and place it on the treatment area, the needles in the cartridge will pulsate and glide over the skin to penetrate the upper layers, creating deliberate trauma and micro-injuries. These injuries trigger a healing response from the body, which responds by producing collagen and elastin fibers. Over time, the skin is rejuvenated, the appearance of fine lines, scars, hyperpigmentation, and sagging skin is reduced, and your overall texture and tone are brightened and improved. To learn more about how microneedling works, read here .

The level of discomfort you experience will depend on the length of the needle you choose to use, as well as whether or not you apply a numbing cream. The shorter the needle length, the less discomfort you will feel. If you have sensitive skin, you can purchase an over-the-counter numbing cream at any pharmacy. Apply about ⅓ to ½ of the tube to the area to be treated, leave it on for 20 minutes, then carefully remove the cream. Once the cream is removed, clean the skin again. This helps prevent the numbing cream from entering the microchannels.

It is recommended to apply a numbing cream before microneedling for lengths longer than 1 mm. Applying a serum such as hyaluronic acid will also help lubricate your skin and may alleviate some of the discomfort during the microneedling process. Using a device with a finer needle gauge (such as the M8 and A7), as well as a higher speed level, can also reduce some of the discomfort.

Microneedling can treat a range of conditions, some of the most common include; mild to moderate acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, uneven skin tone (hyperpigmentation), uneven skin texture, dullness, and stretch marks. To better understand which conditions each Dr Pen model can treat, please read the product description for each model, as each model targets different concerns and has unique characteristics.

You can perform LED light therapy treatment for 15-20 minutes after microneedling treatment. It is safe to use LED light right after microneedling. However, if you feel your skin is really sensitive after microneedling, please wait 24-48 hours before using LED light treatment.
